Thazi, 10 February
A man was killed in a deadly knife attack in Oakshitgone village in Thazi Township, Meiktila District, Mandalay Region yesterday.
Having a quarrel over the arrangement of short drums to be played for a religious purpose, U Win Aung, 52, beat U Thein Htay, 38, with a stick. Feeling angry with U Win Aung for being beaten, U Thein Htay stabbed the former with a knife already with him. U Win Aung died the next morning with stab wounds to his right check and right arm while receiving medical treatment at Thazi People’s Hospital.
U Thein Htay, the murderer, was arrested by the police.—Bo Bo ( Mahlaing)
