A man carrying a sword was arrested on a junction that leads to Madaya town, Pyin Oo Lwin district, Mandalay region yesterday, according to the local police station.
A joint contingent of policemen from Madaya Myoma police station and traffic policemen together with witnesses, who were conducting road safety measures, stopped and searched a motorbike without a number plate, driven by a man without a helmet.
The authorities found a sword with a sharp end, tucked in the motorbike. The authorities seized the sword and arrested the man identified as Kyaw Htet Aung, 22, a resident of Chaung Yoe village, Ye-U township.—Soe Kyaw Thu Htwe ( Madaya)
