Man arrested for running illegal saw mill in Kawlin Tsp

A man who ran an illegal saw mill was apprehended together with illegal teak logs in a forest near Ahtetthitayar village in Kawlin Township, Sagaing Region yesterday evening.

Upon information received, a joint contingent of police and officials from the Township Forest Department together with witnesses combed a forested area near Ahtetthitayar village. The search had resulted in the arrest of U Aung Kyi, the owner of the illegal saw mill, together with 22 teak logs weighing 1.896 tons, 13 sawn teaks weighing 0.1304 ton and related items.

 

Action is being taken against U Aung Kyi according to the Forest Law by Kawlin Myoma Police Station—Lu Aung ( Katha)
