The Ministry of Hotels and Tourism has been making arrangements for international travellers to visit Myanmar in a safe and secure manner. The ministry also organized some travel itineraries for tourists who enter the country through border checkpoints.
Under the management of the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism and Kaung Hein Shwe Sin International Co., Ltd, 29 tourists from Malaysia visited Myanmar on motorbikes by crossing the Myawady border gate on 11 February. They also toured Kyaikhtiyo,Yangon,Nay Pyi Taw, Bagan, PyinOoLwin, Mogok, Inle, Namsang, Kengtung and Tachilek and left for Thailand via Tachilek border gate on 21 February.
Although this is the open season in Myanmar, some globetrotters are continuously entering the country by car or motorbike or bicycle in either groups or crossing alone through border checkpoints to visit significant tourist attraction sites in the country.—MOHT
