With the aim of boosting the income of local people and their socio-economic status, loans for emerald green project were dispensed to members of village emerald green project committee in Moebe village tract and Naunglai village track in Pekho Township, southern Shan State on 7 January.
Under this project, 120 farmers from Nyaungbintha village in in Moebe village tract received K 50.5 million, and 144 farmers from Upper Saungdu, Lower Saungdu and Kyunkone Villages in Naunglai village tract received K 38.5 million respectively. The disbursement of loans is the fifth of its kind in the village tracts.
At the vent, an official from the township Department of Rural Development clarified the purpose of the project and explained rules and procedures of the project to be abode by rural people.
