Mogaung, 6 January
The Legal Aid Board’s office was opened in Mogaung Township, Kachin State this morning.
The office was formally opened by Lower House Legislator U Win Naing, Upper House MP Dr. Khin Ma Gyi, regional lawmaker Daw Mya Thway San, Township Administrator U Yan Naing Tun, and Township Judge U Moe Swe by cutting a ceremonial ribbon. Afterwards, the Upper House representative and the regional MP unveiled the signboard of the office and sprinkled scented water on it.
The Lower House Lawmaker then gave an opening speech and officials from the Legal Aid Board elaborated on establishment of the board, its procedures and principles. The ceremony was attended by departmental officials, members of civil society organizations and the guests totaling about 80.—Win Naing (Kachin Land)
