Acting on a tip-off, police members from Bago Anti-Drug Squad-36 searched a vehicle on Oakshitgone highway in Daik-U Township yesterday and seized 780900 stimulant tablets worth K 2365.2 million and mitragyna speciosa weighing 900 grams, according to the information released by Myanmar Police Force.
In a similar incident, policemen from Maungtaw Anti-Drug Squad-46 the same day raided the compound of Saw Lin’s house in Ywathit Ward, Maungtaw in Rakhine State and seized 282,750 stimulant tablets worth K 565.5 million in a car in the house compound.
Similarly, policemen from Theinni Myoma Police Station the same day intercepted a vehicle driven by Lwin Myo Aung (a) Aikpi with Yan San on board and seized 1850000 stimulant tablets, K 200,000 and a mobile phone in the vehicle.
The authorities filed charges against all suspects under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.—MNA
