July 26,2022

NURTURING of saplings must be undertaken without fail depending on the season and terms of saplings, said Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing at the second monsoon tree-growing ceremony of families of the Office of Commander-in-Chief (Army, Navy and Air) for 2022 near Yezin Dam in Zeyathiri Township of Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

Forest and trees are an ecological chain for the survival of living beings including humans

In his speech, the Senior General said relevant ministries, regions and states and organizations are growing trees in ceremonies. Forest and trees are an ecological chain for the survival of living beings including humans. The systematic arrangements must be made for already grown plants to have actual thriving. It is necessary to consider sufficient land plots for saplings, weeding, efficient moisture and fertilizers for the saplings.

Continuous maintenance to be focused on the result of success in tree-growing ceremonies

During the period from 2011 to 2021, the Tatmadaw has grown 168,087 saplings 32 times, securing good results in the thriving of saplings in these ceremonies. The Tatmadaw grows the saplings suitable and valuable species for the regions.

Need to stand as a society for conserving the natural environment

Thanks to forests, people will have to live in an environment with favourable weather and fresh air, and they will be healthy and fit with full life expectancy. Forests are benefiting the natural environment in indirect and direct ways.

The growing of saplings must be placed under systematic arrangements for actual thriving

It is necessary to set up a system to continuously monitor all already-grown plants. Nurturing of saplings must be undertaken without fail depending on the season and terms of saplings. The growing of saplings should not be done with ordinary efforts. The plans must be adopted for nurturing the already-grown saplings and substituting the non-living trees with new ones.
