Israel reports 104,472 COVID-19 cases, 847 deaths

Israel's Ministry of Health reported 1,809 new coronavirus cases on Monday, bringing the total to 104,472.


The number of death cases reached 847, with 13 new deaths, while the number of patients in serious condition rose from 398 to 416, out of 865 patients currently hospitalized.


The number of recoveries rose to 81,642, with 2,128 new recoveries, while the number of active cases dropped to 21,983.


Earlier on Monday, Israel's Education Minister Yoav Galant, Health Minister Yuli Edelstein, and COVID-19 project manager Ronni Gamzu agreed that the school year would open as planned on September 1, under restrictions.


However, it is possible that the opening of high schools in cities with high morbidity will be postponed, according to a statement issued by the health ministry.
