International travellers throng Myanmar

Nay Pyi Taw 3 April

The Ministry of Hotels and Tourism has been making appropriate arrangements for international visitors to flock to Myanmar in a safe and secure manner. The ministry also organized some travel itineraries for tourists who enter the country through border checkpoints.

Under the management of the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism and Kaung Hein Shwe Sin International Co., Ltd, 16 tourists from Thailand visited Myanmar on their motorcars by crossing the Myawady border gate on 11 March. They also travelled to Nay Pyi Taw, Bagan, PyinOoLwin, Hsipaw, Mandalay, and Hpa-an, and left for Thailand via Myawady border gate on 18 March.

Similarly, two visitors from Malaysia came to the Golden Land on their own motorbikes 6 March via Myawady border checkpoint to visit some tourist attraction sites with the arrangement of the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism and Kaung Hein Shwe Sin International Co., Ltd. The two bikers toured Kyaikhtiyo, Yangon, Pyay, Bagan, Mandalay, Mawlamyine, and Myawady and returned to Thailand through Myawady border gate on 13 March.

Although this is the open season in Myanmar, some globetrotters are continuously entering the country by car or motorbike or bicycle in either groups or crossing alone through border checkpoints to visit significant tourist attraction sites in the country.—MOHT
