Insecticide-treated mosquito nets distributed in Nattalin Tsp

An educative talk about healthcare was held at a rural healthcare center in Kansu Village, Nattalin Township, Bago Region on Wednesday in conjunction with distribution of insecticide-treated mosquito nets.

The event was organized by the Department of Public Health under the Ministry of Health and Sports with the aim of raising health awareness about use of insecticide-treated mosquito nets in order to protect local people from malaria. At the talk, officials from the DPH disseminated knowledge about benefits of treated mosquito nets, protection of malaria, dengue hemorrhagic fever, Japanese encephalitis and the risks of extreme hot weather.

Next, a total of 506 insecticide-treated mosquito nets provided by the Global Fund were distributed to local people. A similar event was held on 11 June whereas 470 insecticide-treated mosquito nets were donated to residents fro two villages—Tin Myint (Nattalin)
