Pinlebu, 1 March
A vehicle loaded with illegal “Tamalan” timbers was seized on Pinlebu-Paungbyin road in Pinlebu Township, Katha District, Sagaing Region yesterday.
A joint contingent of officials from Pinlebu Township Forest Department and local policemen intercepted a suspicious-looking vehicle driven by Yan Naing Soe with Nyi Win and Zaw Min Han onboard. The authorities seized 16 sawn illegal Tamalan timbers weighing 4.7 tons which were hidden inside the vehicle.
Yan Naing Soe is from Nandawon ward in the town of Monywa, Nyi Win, from Yeshingone village of Taze Township and Zaw Min Han, from Mahamyaing Phaya ward, Kalewa.
Action is being taken against the three, who got involved in the illegal business by Pinlebu Myoma Police station.— Lu Aung ( Katha)
