Two people were killed and 7 others injured in a head-on collision between two light trucks in Kalaw Township, Southern Shan State this morning.
A light truck driven by a man named Kyaw Zeyar Win from Shwenyaung Township was heading to Aungban Township from Kalaw Township. The truck collided with a car coming from opposite direction near mileposts 74/1 and 74/2 on the Meiktila-Taunggyu-Kengtung-Tachilek Road at about 5:30 a.m. today after the driver lost control of the car. Two people from both cars died on the spot and 7 others were hurt in the incident.
The injured people have been taken to a public hospital in Kalaw by ambulances from local social organizations. Action is being taken against the light truck driver over reckless driving by the local police force.
