Head-on collision between YBS bus, Hijet leaves 2 dead, 2 injured

Two men died on the spot and two people injured in a head-on collision between an YBS bus and a hijet on the Yangon-Pyay Road in Mayangon Township yesterday.

The accident happened between 9th-mile Bus Stop and Mahasi Bus Stop when an over-speeding hijet collided with an YBS bus. Two men were pronounced dead at the scene and two people were slightly hurt in the incident. The bodies of the two men from the hijet’s front seat were taken out and the injured people were sent to Yangon General Hospital by an ambulance from the funeral services.

“We went to the scene of accident as soon as we received information about that. Two people died and two others were injured in the incident. We carried out the rescue works in cooperation with other social organizations and funeral services. I would like to warn every motorist to reduce driving speed” said U Lin Maung, leader of the Myanmar’s Kyel Phyu philanthropic association.—Myo Kin Thein
