Pinlebu, 11 April
Authorities seized drugs worth over K 59.00 million in Ngawche Village, Nyaungon village track, Pilebu Township, Katha District, Sagaing Region yesterday.
Acting on a tip-off, a combined team comprising policemen from Pinlebu Police Station and members of Pinlebu Moethaukkye Anti-Drug Squad together with witnesses yesterday searched the house of U Phoe Pya in Ngawche Village and seized 460 grams of drugs believed to be heroin and 27630 stimulant tablets from a drug pusher, identified as Maung Nyunt, son of U Than Maung, from Peinnegon village in Nyaungon village track.
Authorities filed charges against Maung Nyunt and fugitive offender U Phoe Pya under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.—Myo Lwin, Pinlebu IPRD
