Action scenes from the film Line Walker-2 were shot on Sule Pagoda Road in Kyaukdata Township, in Yangon yesterday morning. The day’s scenes cover a gunfight between police forces and gangsters, as well as attacks against police using cars.
On the matter of arms and ammunitions used in some of the scenes, advisor to Yangon Synthesis Productions Police Brig-Gen Win Khaung (retired) said, “I’ve already spoken about the import, securing in a police station, and issuing of the arms and ammunitions used in the scene. There’s been false news going around about the arms. The arms are real, in terms of weight and mechanism. However, these are arms specially produced for film making. These have been used in Hollywood and by the international film industry for a long time, but they were never used here.
These guns use blank rounds only. They are made in such a way that a live round couldn’t be used in it. If these guns were shot directly at you from a specified distance, there isn’t any danger. The recoil of these guns, the flash and smoke emitting from the gun barrels are just like real guns.” These guns were handled by licensed experts, who lease guns to movie companies. These experts also came along to the filming sites and provided guidance and instructions on how to shoot, handle, store the guns, including loading cartridges, turning the safety on and off, and more.
The arms and ammunitions were handled in a very safe way, said Police Brig-Gen Win Khaung (retired).
The film crews were shooting action scenes from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. As in the past days of filming, there were a sizable crowd who were watching the filming of the action scene on Sule Pagoda Road.—MNA
