An ophthalmology team offered free eye care services to eye patients in Namsang Township, Southern Shan State on 27 April.
The eye care services were given by a mobile medical team led by Eye Specialist Dr. Theingi Win from Sao San Tun Hospital in Taunggyi with the sponsorship of a philanthropic organization. The team performed medical check-ups and provided eye patients with glasses and medicine. Township Administrator U Nyein Chan Aung, Executive Officer from the Township Municipal Committee U Aung Mya Thein and local social organizations also gave necessary assistance to the medical team.
The number of patients who enlisted their names to receive free eye treatment reached 356. The ophthalmology team will perform eye surgery for 28 patients at a public hospital in Taunggyi in May.—Thura Aung (IPRD)
