Free eye care services furnished in Meiktila

Meiktila 20 February

Eye patients in Meiktila received free eye treatment at Tila-U Eye Special Hospital on 19 February.

The project mainly focuses on monks, nuns in villages and the elderly at nursing homes in the township. The event is often conducted every full-moon day at the hospital for monks, nuns and the elderly. It is the 120th of its kind in which over 4,000 people including over 1,000 monks and nuns received free eye treatment.

Those who received eye surgical operations were also provided with sunglasses and power glasses. On the Full-moon day of Tabodwe, altogether 12 eye patients comprising nine monks, one nun and two elderly were provided eye surgical operations, according to eye specialist Dr. Khin Zaw Tun from the Tila-U Eye Hospital.
