Fire broke out at around 1:45 am today in Yayni Village, Kyaukkung village track, Pauk Township, Pakokku District in Magway Region.
The fire which was thought to have started from an ember left in the house of U Than Myint spread to other five houses in the village.
Six fire men led by staff officer U Kyaw Min Thu from the Township Fire Services Department and ten fire men from the village Fire Services Station rushed to the scene to fight the fire with the use of a water tanker in cooperation with locals and the blaze was successfully extinguished at around 3:00 am.
Fire totally destroyed six houses and one basket of onion seeds, and killed two pigs. Authorities filed a case against U Than Myint, 74, for his negligence.—Township IPRD
