Extended healthcare facility in Singu completed

A two-storey extended facility is being built by the Ministry of Construction in the compound of a government hospital in Singu Township, Mandalay Region.

The healthcare structure is cent percent complete and is expected to be opened to pubic soon. The 150 ft. long, 56 ft. wide facility is of reinforced concrete type and was constructed by the Building Department under the ministry. The two-storey structure was built with Ks. 450 450 million allocated by the Ministry of Sports and Health.

The extended building will house some beds for the emergency patients. A plan to construct medical storage facility and staff housing has already been submitted to the ministry, said an official from the hospital.

A 16-bed public hospital was built in Singu in 1964 and later it was upgraded to a 25 bed facility. In 2018, the hospital was extended into a 50-bed institution.—Win Maung (Singu)
