A ceremony to disburse social pension to senior citizens aged 85 and above was held at the meeting room of the Township General Administration Department in Zigon Township, Bago Region on 29 July.
First, an official from the Township General Administration Department delivered an opening speech. Then, an official from the Township Department of Social Welfare clarified the purposes of the provision of cash assistance for elderly people. “Elderly people who are eligible to receive social pension can apply social pension” she added.
Under this cash aid program, 600 senior citizens from wards ad villages in the Township received social pension.—Tint Shwe(IPRD)
