A ceremony to provide social pension to elderly people above 85 years old was held Myaungmya, Einme and Wakhema Townships in Ayeyawady Region yesterday.
The Pyithu Hluttaw Representative Dr. Soe Moe Thu, the region Hluttaw Representative Daw Khine Zin Oo, the staff officer of the district Social Welfare Daw Thandar and locals paid a domiciliary visit to disbursed social pension and handed over social pension to them for the months of October, November and December.
Altogether 2621 people including 1062 senior citizens in Myaungmya, 787 in Einme and 772 in Wakhema received social pension, according to the township Department of Social Welfare.—District IPRD
