Education USA University Fair was held at Jefferson center in the city of Mandalay this morning. The aim of the fair is to help Myanmar students find out ways to join the American universities and scholarship programs offered by those universities.
Representatives from 30 American universities were present at the fair and Myanmar students could seek opportunities to study in those universities by interviewing them, said a public affairs officer at the American Embassy.
“As there are more than 4,000 universities in American, Myanmar students have a lot of opportunities to select and attend a suitable university. They have to improve their English. Students are invited to meet advisory groups in Jefferson center here and American Center in Yangon in order to seek ways to join American universities,” he continued.
At the present, there are over 1500 Myanmar students studying in American universities. The fair will be held again in American center in Yangon on 21 February, it is learnt.—Aung Phyo Kyaw
