Police members from Mohnyin Anti-Drug Squad intercepted a light truck car near Manaw agri toll gate in Mawhe Village in Mohnyin Township, Kachin State on 14 September and seized 5700 stimulant tablets.
In a similar incident, Policemen from Nyaungshwe Anti-Drug Squad searched the home of Mapwa in Kyautaw Village in Nyaungshew Township, Shan State and seized 2200 stimulant tablets in the house. Police members also intercepted a motorbike driven by Aung Tun Lin and confiscated 2000 stimulant tablets from him. As a result of investigation, police members raided the house of Tun Oo Gontein Village in Shwenyaung Township and confiscated 160 stimulant tablets on 15 September.
In a similar incident, Policemen from Tuanggyi Anti-Drug Squad searched a car driven by Si Thu Win on Taunggyi-Mongping Road near Zale Village in Taunggyi Township and seized 2000 stimulant tablets. Policemen from Tachilek Anti-Drug Squad also raided the home of Aik Phat and confiscated 195200 stimulant tablets.
The authorities filed charges against all suspects under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.—MPF
