Drugs, homemade gun seized in house raid in Maungtaw

An anti-drug squad seized stimulant tablets and weapons in a house search in Maungtaw Township, Rakhine State on Tuesday.

Accompanied by village officials, the anti-drug team led by Police Inspector Aung Kyaw Soe raided the house of a man identified as U Ba Maung Htay in Udaung Village, Maungtaw Township at about 11:15 a.m. on 26 February under a search warrant. The police found a woman named Daw Khin San Yu, wife of the suspected drug dealer and confiscated 176 stimulant pills, one plastic grenade, one fuse, one homemade gun and 15 bullets in the house.

The wife of the house owner is being questioned over possession of drugs and weapons by the local police station in accordance with the law.—IPRD
