As many as 3,393 stimulant tablets were seized in Hpa-an Township, Kayin State yesterday.
Acting on a tip-off, a combined team led by Police Inspector Tun Tun Win from Pha-an Anti-Drug Squad-31 and Police Sub-Inspector Pale Mya from Crimes Control Department searched a motorbike driven by Naing Lin Oo (a) Nge Nge of Pha-an, 19 and seized 40 stimulant tablets and an OPPO hand phone from him.
Further information led to the arrest of Nay Kyaw Tun Oo of Pha-an, 38 along with 23 stimulant tablets, SAMSUNG and OPPO hand phones.
The authorities also seized 3,330 stimulant tablets, a MI hand phone and K 210,000 from Kyaw Kyaw, 48, and Wai Wai Soe, 42, of Pha-an.
Upon interrogation, a VOICE hand phone which was used in drug trafficking was seized from Htein Lin (a) U Chin.
The local police station has filed charges against the four under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law. –Min Thu (Pha-an)
