Driver dead after oil tanker plummets into ravine in Ann Township

A man has died after an oil tanker plunged into a ravine in Ann Township, Rakhine State, according to the Ministry of Home Affairs.
    

The accident took place at milepost 84/5 on the Ann-Minbu Road near Hsninkhontaing Village, Ann Township at about 2:30 p.m. on 15 February. An oil bowser driven by a man named Phyo Wai Aung together with coworker Pyae Lin Tun (alias) Pyae Sone fell into a 100 ft. deep gorge, killing the driver on the spot.


The accident is believed to have started from a faculty braking system of the vehicle. The driver’s colleague managed to save his life in the incident.—MOHA
