Danu ethnic people hold gathering in Yatsauk

A gathering of Dana ethnic was held at a monastery in Nanpone Village, Yatsauk Township in Shan State this morning.

Firstly, the ceremony was formally opened by the senior Buddhist monks and honourary guests. Next, those present paid homage to members of the Sangha and received Ovadakatha from the Sayadaws. Then patron of the Danu ethnic affairs organization U Maung Ohn and chairman of the Danu ethnic affairs organization U Ba Maw extended greetings. Afterwards, Shan State Minister for Finance U Sai Hseng Tip Long and Chairman of the township management committee Township Administrator U Bo Aung Maung Maung delivered addresses.

           

The ceremony, the fourth of its kind, was attended by more than 3,000 Danu ethnic people in the township.—IPRD
