The current relaxation of restrictions resulted from support given to COVID prevention efforts; to gain victory over COVID, please continue giving help by maintaining discipline: State Counsellor

State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi wrote on her Facebook page yesterday that the current relaxation of restrictions resulted from the support given to COVID prevention efforts; to gain victory over COVID, she requested the people to continue giving help by maintaining discipline. This is what she wrote:

She said, “Time and tide waits for no man”. No one, nothing remains stationary without changing. It has been over two months now since I started using Facebook to communicate with the people regarding COVID.

COVID did not stay still either, changing day by day into many forms, never boring us. We will relax some restrictions that had been imposed up to 31 May to prevent the spread of the disease beginning from 1 June. Our aim is to slowly and surely bring back the government machinery into full capacity.

Not only in this matter but in all other matters also – the people’s concerns, aspirations, hopes, what needs to happen, what can actually happen, these things are always in my mind. I have always sought the best solution. I want to say again that to get the best solution, we need the help and cooperation of the people. This is something that needs to be repeated 200 times so that this sinks into the hearts and minds. She concluded by saying that the current relaxation of restrictions resulted from the support given to COVID prevention efforts. To gain victory over COVID she requested the people to continue giving help by maintaining discipline.
