Union Minister for Health and Sports Dr Myint Htwe welcomed 12 medical professionals from Yunnan Province, China, with Chinese Ambassador Mr Chen Hai at Yangon International Airport yesterday.
The Union Minister first gave a welcome speech to the medical team and then took a group documentary photo with them. Next, the Union Minister inspected the medical supplies and laboratory equipment donated by China to the Ministry of Health and Sports, worth Yuan4,337,334.25. The medical team includes the head of Yunnan Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, a pulmonologist, communicable disease specialist, communicable disease prevention specialist, health administrator and senior nurse from the First Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University, pandemic experts and laboratory professionals from Yunnan Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, and traditional medicine experts from Yunnan Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
The medical team will be in Yangon for 15 days to collaborate with the Ministry of Health and Sports on COVID-19.—MNA
