Myitkyina 17 January
Kachin Chief Minister Dr. Khet Aung and state ministers inspected preparatory measures for holding Children’s Literature Festival (Myitkyina) to be jointly conducted by the Ministry of Information, Ministry of Education and Kachin State government from 20 to 22 January.
The Chief Minister and state ministers observed setting up of the signboards and festival emblems, array in the convocation hall, booths of reading, origami and others. In addition, deputy director-general of the Information and Public Relations Department U Aye Kwel and officials from the organizing committee clarified the procedures of the festival. The Chief Minister made instructions for the needs of the event.
It is the 9th of its kind at which over 4,000 books and publications published in 2018, Yanapol Agreement, Aung San-Atlee Agreement, Panlong Agreement and other memorable stone inscriptions from the National Archives will be displayed. In addition, poetry reading and impromptu talks in ethnic languages will be included.
