CBM Deputy Governor attends 20th ASEAN Central Bank Deputies Meeting virtually

Dr Lin Aung, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Myan­mar, along with high-ranking officials, participated in the 20th ASEAN Central Bank Deputies Meeting (ACDM) and the ASE­AN Finance and Central Bank Deputies Meeting (AFCDM) virtually yesterday.

 

The ACDM, initiated by the opening remarks of the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Laos, focused on financing Micro, Small, and Medium En­terprises (MSMEs) in the region in 2024. Subsequently, partic­ipants provided their insights to various working committees, including Capital Account Lib­eralization, ASEAN Banking In­tegration Framework, Financial Inclusion, Payment and Settle­ment System, Financial Ser­vices Liberalization, as well as matters concerning the ASEAN Swap Arrangement and ASEAN Cybersecurity Resilience and Information Sharing Platform.

 

In the afternoon session, the ASEAN Secretary-Gener­al’s Office delivered presenta­tions on the status of ASEAN Economic Cooperation, the AEC Blueprint 2025, ASEAN Community Vision 2045, and the ASEAN Financial Integration Monitoring Report 2024 during the AFCDM.

 

Following this, various working committees provid­ed updates on the progress of the Senior Level Committee on ASEAN Financial Integra­tion and outlined tasks for the financial year 2024-25. ASEAN Central Bank deputies offered their advice and guidance.

 

The meeting concluded with the confirmation of drafts for the joint statement and pro­gramme to be submitted to the 11th ASEAN Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors’ Meeting. — MNA/NT
