Kanbalu, 17 March
A police patrol captured three cattle smugglers and seized 65 illegal bulls during a car search in Kanbalu Township, Sagaing Region on 15 March.
The arrest was made by a joint squad consisting of local officials from the General Administration Department, the township municipality committee and ward/village administrators led by Police Captain Aung Kyaw Moe. The combined team intercepted three trucks near Myayhtoo Village in Kanbalu Township based on an anonymous tipoff.
The police search led to the discovery of three men identified as Aung Kyaw Myint, Hlaingthayar Township, Yangon Region, Tin Min Tun, Tatkon Township, Nay Pyi Taw Council Area and Zaw Hsan Htike from Kanbalu Township with 65 bulls.
Action has been taken against the three men over transporting the bulls illegally under the Important Goods and Services Law by the local police station.—Lu Aung (Katha)
