A ceremony to provide social pension and COVID-19 cash assistance to senior citizens in Kyaukpadaung Township, Nyaung-U Township, Mandalay Region was held at Township General Administration Department on December 30.
At the ceremony, Township Administrator gave remarks and an official from the District Department of Social Welfare clarified the purpose of the provision. Then the officials provided social pension for three months to the elderly people over 85 years old and COVID-19 cash assistance to the elderly over 100 years old via respective ward and village administrators.
Afterwards, the respective officials made a domiciliary visit to provide cash assistance to the elderly people in the township. A total of 1904 elderly people over 85 years old were also provided with social pension and a total of 30 elderly people over 100 years old were also given COVID-19 cash.
