Cash aid provided to victims of riverbank erosion in Pantanaw Twsp.

An event to provide cash aid to people whose homes became relocated due to riverbank erosion was held at the Yadanatheingi Monastery in Dauntkan Village in Pantanaw Township, Ayeyarwady Region yesterday afternoon.

 

Chairman of the Township Administration Council U Naing Win, secretary of the Township Administration Council Police Major Kyaw Zan, member-1 and member-2 of the Township Administration Council Major Zay Ya Myint and U Thein Win and staff officer of the District Disaster Management Department U Han Lin Htut attended the event and provided Ks. 3.6 million for purchasing rice and construction materials to 189 victims of riverbank erosion from 33 households in Pantanaw Township.

 

A total of 189 family members from 33 households in Dauntkan Village in Pantanaw Township were evacuated to safer places as the danger of the Irrawaddy riverbank erosion on July 26 this year.—Pae Phyo Kyaw(IPRD)
