Bandbwegyin waterfall to be new tourist destination

Arrangements have been made to add Bandbwegyin waterfall in Naunghkio Township into the list of tourist destinations, said U San Yu, assistant director of the Directorate of Hotels and Tourism (Upper Myanmar Branch).

The waterfall which will bewitch travelers’ spirit is located in Bandbwegyin village-tract in Naunghkio Township and it is adjacent to Pyin Oo Lwin and Madaya Townships.

“The new tour based on ecotourism targets travelers who prefer natural landscapes”, he added.

Most tourists are becoming interested in natural beauty and adventurous trip. In Mandalay Region, there are many places to visit, adding the new Bandbwegyin will be an alluring tour for the visitors. Now, many local tourists come to visit the new destination, and as a consequence, arrangements are being made for foreign tourists to be able to visit the site.

“The country needs to tap new tourism sites. Currently, the waterfall needs to be facilitated with ladders for the safety of travelers. On top of that, public toilets and trash cans should be put in place” said U Min Naing, chairman of the Myanmar Hotelier Association (Mandalay).
