Bago Region modernizes farmlamd in Yedashe Tsp, hopes for umcompletion of project by summer

Bago Region Government and the Agricultural Mechanization Department are modernizing over 180 acres of farmland in Saitamou Gyi Village, Kyan Thanwe Village Tract, Yedashe Township, Bago Region, hoping to complete the project before the summer paddy planting time, according to the local authorities.

“The land has been upgraded for mechanized farming since 30 December 2020 and all the farming processes will be finished in time”, said U Than Oo, an officer of the Township Agricultural Mechanization Department on 10 January 2021.

Super Sun Bright Company Limited will be responsible for the land leveling and farming processes with 237.7 million kyats of the Bago Region Government’s 2020-2021 budget. Irrigation water will be available from the Water Supply Canal No. (5), (6) and (7) of Swa Dam and officials will conduct landscaping and construction of Irrigation canal, drainage, water pipes and bridges.

The model systematic farming will greatly benefit farmers in the development of the agricultural sector, with better and higher yields than conventional farming, said local authorities.
