AYEYAWADY United, a championship dreamer of Myanmar National League, fell to the second place of the league’s standing table after they faced a 2-4 loss to Yangon United in the MNL Week-19 match played yesterday at Padonmar Stadium in Yangon.

Head coach U Min Tun Lin’s Yangon United lined up with team’s crucial players’ keeper and captain Kyaw Zin Htet, Yan Naing Oo, Ernest Barfo, Thurein Soe, Aye Soe, Yan Paing Soe and Kyi Lin.

In the meantime, head coach U Myo Hlaing Win’s Ayeyawady United used key players Lwin Moe Aung, Victor, Than Htet Aung, captain Thiha Zaw, keeper Kyaw Zin Phyo, Success and Kyaw Zin Lwin.

Yangon United played better yesterday with full of concentration, and the team found their first goal even at ten minute-mark.

By taking an opportunity over freezing defence line of Ayeyawady, the very first goal for Yangon was scored by Ernest Barfo.

But Ayeyawady United garnered their equalizer via penalty kick at 36 minutes, and the goal was scored by expatriate player Success at 36 minutes.

The first half was ended by 1-1 tie.

Yangon United still dominated the second half with their smart dribbling skill.

Kyi Lin scored the second goal for Yangon at 50 minute and his teammate Ernest Barfo made the third goal at 53 minutes to reach 3-1 result in favour of Yangon.

At 76 minute Yangon’s head coach changed their team’s tactic as Emmanuel and Nyein Chan Aung came in the match in the places of previous goals scores Kyi Lin and Barfo.

The substituted player Emmanuel scored fourth and winning goal for Yangon at 78 minutes. Ayeyawady found their consolation goal at 80 minutes after captain Thiha Zaw passed through four defenders of Yangon to launch a straight kick.

At the final whistle, Ayeyawady United felt unhappy for their 2-4 loss, and the team’s chance to become MNL champion became lesser.
