Awareness discussion on reduction of smog conducted in Mongyu

Mongyu, 5 February

 

With the aims of reduction of smog and control of burning forests, awareness discussion on reduction of smog  was conducted in a monastery in Dunnwe village, Mongyu, Tachileik District, Shan State (East) this morning.

 

At the discussion, an official from the Township General Administration Department clarified the purpose of the discussion. Next, officials from the Department of Public Health, Department of Agriculture, Fire Services Department, Forestry Department, Department of Agricultural Land Management and Statistics and Information and Public Relations Department also shared knowledge on risks of smog by inhaling, offence and penalty of arson, reduction of smog and air pollution, control of deforestation, shifting cultivation and soil conservation practices with the attendees.

 

In addition, they also informed the symptoms, spread and risks of the coronavirus to the attendees. Then, the officials responded to the queries raised by the attendees.
