Authorities yesterday seized about K 960 million worth of heroin and stimulant pills at Naba Junction on Shwebo-Myitkyina road, Indaw Township, Katha District in Sagaing Region.
Acting on a tip-off, police members led by Police sub-inspector Myo Thet Naing from Naba Police Outpost stopped a vehicle driven by Zaw Oo (a) Zaw Min, 29, of Dagon Township, Yangon Region, at Naba police checkpoint and seized heroin weighing 6600 grams worth about K 660 million and 60000 stimulant tablets worth K 300 million and notes of Myanmar Kyat 200000.
The seized drugs and stimulant tablets were hidden in 660 Soap boxes in the vehicle.
Authorities filed charges against Zaw Min Oo (a) Zaw Min under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.—U Ko Min
