Some ancient artifacts were unearthed in a village in Thabeikkyin Township, Mandalay Region on 1 March, according to the Ministry of Home Affairs.
A villager named U Myint Lwin, 49 years old dredged up broken pieces of seven clay pots and parts of a broken ceramic spoon on 1 March in the village. Officials from the Archaeological, Natural Museum and Libraries Department under the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture went to the site to check the artifacts and also discovered two earthen pots, and broken pieces of a clay pot.
The newly found ancient works of art are believed to be from Pyu era. The ancient artifacts are being preserved at a museum belong to the the Archaeological, Natural Museum and Libraries Department in Tagaung Town.—MOHA
