AFF to resume ASEAN level youth football tourneys in late 2022

March 7

THE ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) is planning to resume ASEAN-level youth football matches late 2022, according to the football authorities.

The football federation is trying to get all the matches back this year, as all the tourneys were postponed due to the global outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021.

AFF hosted the first ASEAN U-23 Championship in Cambodia from 14 to 26 February and the second ASEAN Futsal Championship in Thailand in April.

The ASEAN Football Confederation is also planning to host the U-16 and U-19 men’s and women’s competition from July to October 2022.

Myanmar football teams regularly compete in the ASEAN level competitions and will compete in those competitions according to the pandemic situation.

The Asian Football Confederation and the ASEAN Football Federation have been working to resume regional football matches as usual and have resumed competitions since the second half of last year.
