88 Myanmar nationals repatriated from Malaysia by relief flight

A relief flight of Air Asia landed at Yangon International Airport yesterday, wtih 88 Myanmar nationals who wanted to return home as they were facing difficulties in Malaysia.


The flight was organized by the Myanmar Embassy in Kuala Lumpur and the respective companies.


The returnees have to stay the 14-day quarantine at specific places or designated hotels after immigration processes and medical tests, followed by the 7-day home quarantine, under the arrangements of the Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population, the Ministry of Health and Sports and the Yangon Region government.


In accordance with the directives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Myanmar Embassy in Kuala Lumpur is also working together with the respective organizations to repatriate the citizens who have no valid documents and who were held at the detention centres after verifying their citizenship.
