75th Anniversary (Diamond Jubilee) of Pa-O National Day celebrated in Taunggyi

The 75th Anniversary (Dia­mond Jubilee) of Pa-O Na­tional Day was marked on 24 March at the Pa-O National Comprehensive Develop­ment Ground in Kangyi Ward, Taunggyi.

 

At the ceremony, the Pa-O national flag and the flag of the Republic of the Un­ion of Myanmar were raised and saluted, and martyr lead­ers were saluted.

 

Pa-O national lead­er Phyartansinpha Aung Hkam Hti gave an opening speech and Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung also gave a speech, saying that the Pa-O ethnic people mostly live in Shan State (South) and are honest, upright and open, and they have special devotion to religion. Since the successive governments have paid the special emphasis, the state government will continue to cooperate with local ethnics to implement wishes and de­sires of the Pa-O ethnic group. In addition, and the people of Pa-O region should cooperate in peace, stability and security of the region.

 

After that, U Hti from Hsi­hseng Township Pa-O Liter­ary and Cultural Association reported on the situation of the Pa-O people, and the Chief Min­ister presented K10 million for marking the ceremony. Phyar Khun Win Ko accepted the cash donations. — Maung Maung Than (Taunggyi)/TKO
