Mandalay 4 January
The 71st anniversary Independence Day was held at the Mandalar Thiri Stadium in Chanmya Thazi Township, Mandalay Region this morning.
First a ceremony to hoist the national flag was held at 4:20 am. At 7 am, attendees gave salute to the national flag and martyrs at 7 am. Afterwards, Mandalay Region Chief Minister Dr. Zaw Myint Maung read the message sent by President U Win Myint to mark 71st anniversary of Independence Day.
Present on the occasion were chief minister, departmental personnel, members of Hluttaw and local people, totaling 3,200.
