The traditional Naga New Year Festival was held in Leshi, Naga Self-Administered Zone, Sagaing Region, yesterday.
Sagaing Region Minister of Planning and Finance U Soe Oo, Chairman U Kay Sai of Naga Self-Administered Zone, patron U Ru San Kyuu of Naga literature and culture association (central), Pyithu Hluttaw representative of Leshi Township U Kyaw Htay opened the ceremony by cutting a ceremonial ribbon.
Thirty-seven traditional culture and traditional dance troupes were invited to participate in the annual festival.
Continuously, accompanied by local residents, the Minister of Planning and Finance and officials, invited guests and Naga traditional dance troupes beat traditional Naga drum, after erecting the New Year banner mast and prayer poles.
