2nd Walking Thingyan to be held in Magway

The 2nd walking Thingyan will be held in Magway on a grander scale than the previous one through cooperation between Magway Region Government and community leaders, according to organizing committee.

A coordination meeting to organize the 2nd walking thingyan was held by Magway Region Chief Minister Dr. Aung Moe Nyo, organizing committee and community leaders on 14 March.

The walking Thingyan festival that depicts Myanmar traditioanl culutre will be held along the strand road of Magway, said Ko Moe, member of Magway Philanthropic Organization.

“There will be pandals for throwing water, ehtinc tradition, Studitha and entertainment. Arrangements have been made to provide meals to revelers at the beach near walking Thingyan. In addition, steps are also being taken for distributing more water than the previous year” he added.

 

The revellers will be enjoying water throwing from 13 to 16 April but children, until 17 April (Myanmar New Year’s Day).
