13 injured in a traffic accident between passenger bus and oil tanker

Waw, 9 June

13 people were injured after a passenger bus hit an oil tanker in Waw Township, Bago Region on 7 June, according to the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The accident took place between mileposts 78/6 and 78/7 on the Yangon-Mawlamyine Road near Takaungwin Village in Waw Township at about 5:30 a.m. on 7 June. A Yangon-bound passenger bus with 30 people aboard rear ended an oil bowser driven by U Myint Lwin, 51 years old together with his colleague named Tun Aung Kyaw, 42 years of age. 13 people were injured in the incident and one of them was in critical condition.

The injured people were sent to a nearby public hospital and a file charged against the bus driver identified as Aung Aung Naing, 41 years old over reckless driving by the local people.—MOHA
