108th Buddha Pujaniya festival of Sule Pagoda concludes

A ceremony to conclude the108th Buddha Pujaniya festival of Sule Pagoda was held, with a rice donation ceremony, at the pagoda in Yangon yesterday.


First, the congregation including members of the pagoda’s board of trustees and well-wishers received the Five Precepts from State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee member Sayadaw Thanlyin Min Kyaung Sayadaw Agga Maha Pandita Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotika Daja Bhaddanta Candima Bhivumsa, and listened to the Parittas recited by Members of Sangha.


This was followed by U Than Swe, Chairman of the rice donation committee of the Buddha Pujaniya festival, who is also a member of the board of trustee of the pagoda, supplicating the matters relating to the rice donation ceremony.


Afterwards, the congregation listened to the sermon delivered by Thanlyin Min Kyaung Sayadaw Bhaddanta Candima Bhivumsa, and shared merits they gained.


At the event, the congregation comprised of departmental officials, members of the board of trustees and well-wishers from Kyauktada, Pabedan, Lanmadaw and Latha townships offered rice to 180 Members of Sangha and 50 nuns. —MNA (Translated by Kyaw Zin Tun)
