With the aim of promoting fishery industry and preventing from scarcity of fish resources, the Township Fisheries Department is undertaking to add fingerlings into lakes, paddy fields, creeks and rivers across the Township.
On 23 March morning, the Lemyethna Fisheries Department held a ceremony to release fingerlings into the Creek, according to an official from the Township Fisheries Department.
Chairman of the District Administration Council U Thein Sai, staff from the Township Fisheries Department and departmental officials attended the event and released a total of 40000 fingerlings into Inn Creek.
The fish are annually released into the creeks, paddy fields and dams to support the development of fishery products, to conserve the fish resources and meet the local demand.—Township IPRD
